2008 Design Awards
The judge opened an envelope, and gasped.

Sandee Daye, a master certifi ed kitchen designer in Cincinnati, has seen thousands of kitchens and designed some award-winners herself. The one before her still managed to show her something new: a terrazzo backsplash composed like a mod mural in chocolate, aqua, and cream.
Another judge lingered over a garage transformed by a master trompe l’oeil painter into an auto showplace (with a diner!). The bathrooms awash in mesmerizing tile and light soothed from photos alone, and for a moment the panel paused, mentally escaping to an air-jet tub.
In the end, 10 winners emerged from our second annual Design Awards competition, judged by a trio of top interior designers in Cincinnati (Indy designers return the favor and judge Cincinnati Magazine’s design contest). This crop includes condos and Colonials, home theaters and lovely living rooms, all examples of function and fashion at their best.
